Question: God’s message to churches:

God’s answer:

Abscond
Don’t let them get away.

The definition of the word abscond is "to leave quickly and secretly and hide oneself, often to avoid arrest or prosecution." 8

Question: Who in the church are you addressing this message to?

God’s answer:

To whom it may concern

Question: What if the person who committed the crime(s) has completely changed his ways, should the church still hand him over if they find out that a crime has been committed?

God’s answer:

Drop the case
Let sleeping dogs lie

The expression let sleeping dogs lie means to "allow inactive problems to remain so. This injunction to avoid stirring up trouble was already a proverb in the 13th century. It alludes to waking up a fierce watchdog and has been stated in English since the late 1300s".9

Question: Why?

God’s answer:

changed person
My justice has been served.

Meaning: Justice to God is about conversion and not punishment. It is about the welfare and best interest of the person. In God’s eyes, this person has already done his/her time which has led to a complete turnaround.

Question: So, in such cases, be this “a religious” or a “lay person”, it is your stand that such people should not be held accountable for their past crimes? Man’s justice says otherwise. What is your message to us?

God’s answer:

Give pardon
Learn to be forgiving.

Question: If we do that, how can we really tell that a person has changed? Won’t this be used as a loophole that many will take advantage of?

God’s answer:

Painting a pretty picture
It’s the inside that counts

Question: How would we know that?

God’s answer:

True colors
Probationary period. One must pass the test of time to prove a permanent change.
